Cell Phones

One of the first purchases most new international students will want to make is a cell phone.  While the natural question for most people to ask is, “What’s the best cell phone company?” there is no correct answer.

Note about the Social Security Number and cell phone service: a social security number is not required in order to get a cell phone.  However, some plan or service options may not be available for those who do not have a social security number.  If the cell phone service representative asks for your social security number, simply explain that you do not have one and ask about options available for those without a social security number.
